The title is a quote from my grandfather on my dad's side. He passed away in 2018. He would say this when he would give my sister and me cookies. I've had a lot of loss in my life. Maybe I don't but it feels like it. My grandfather on my mom's side passed waaay before I was born. My grandmother on my mom's side passed exactly one month before I was born. My first dog passed in 2017 of cancer. I look back on these and, yes, they are sad. In fact they down right suck. However, I know that this is just part of life. I know that none of these people would want me to ruin my life in self pity or sadness because of them. In fact I think they would want me to keep smiling, joking, and enjoying life. This is how I carry on their legacy, I live my life and don't look back. When I do, I smile on all the happy times I had with those who have moved on. I keep on joking and cracking-wise because that's what my grandfather would do. I loved my grandfathers, my grandmother, and my dog even though I didn't know some of them. I live my life, smile, and (when I can) take two because they're small.

I really like the message you're sending. You're staying positive even when things go wrong or something sad happens. We have a lot of negativity in the world already so a smile to help keep all of us happy and others around us feeling positive can change someones day! Thanks for sharing this!
Well that's what this site is for. It can be such a healing process to just share what's going you. Glad we could help!
No problem. It felt good to write about because so many people get caught up in the sadness of this world.
Justin, I love how positive your story is. Stay positive and keep smiling; even when something sad happens, such as a death. You won't feel better if you're depressed and gloomy all the time. We have so much negativity in this world and everyone could use a bit more positivity. So keep smiling. One smile can make someone's whole day. Thanks for sharing!
