"What Are You Doing to Help Others During COVID-19?" https://asafeplace2share.wixsite.com/asafeplace2share/forum/share-your-story/what-are-you-doing-to-help-others-during-covid-19
Easter weekend, my family and I created small Easter baskets with candies and plastic eggs in them for the families with small children in our neighborhood. We had a ton of fun creating them and decorating them. We also had fun playing Easter bunny by secretly delivering them.
Over quarantine I have built raised garden beds for my mom and her neighbors so they can grow food in these times of uncertainty. I also have just done my best to be understanding with people in public. I think it is important to still be kind and social with people while maintaining safe distance, like still talking with people you see walking on the street while maintaining a respectful distance.
I live in Colorado and the weather has been all over the place. Because of the snow and my work schedule I haven’t been able to bike the goodies to my friends and family’s houses. I did get a couple of cards in the mail and some boxes of brownies to my neighbors. Yum!! I plan on getting the rest of the 19 out next week 👍
I've been super busy with school so I haven't had a ton of time, but just... trying to make time for friends to check up on them and see how they're doing amidst all of this tbh!
I've seen so many kids draw such great chalk art for people on walks!
My mother made a very good meal for us on Easter. She worked really hard at it so that we would enjoy it.
One thing I've really enjoyed doing is picking up groceries for people. As a college student with a car, this is something I can do since it is pretty flexible, and I'm fairly low-risk, but it's also really helpful for the people I can do it for. Also, it gets me out of the house but in a way that isn't contributing to further problems with COVID19.
Someone noticed our rocks that we placed on the trail. 😊
My sister created a bunch of motivational signs that we put around our neighborhood! Also, some people in our neighborhood wrote awesome things out of chalk on sidewalks!
Our family is trying to do 19 random acts of kindness this week. So far we've done a coffee pay-it-forward, helped rescue a lost dog, posted positive quotes all over our neighborhood, painted rocks to brighten up a trail, ding-dong ditched Easter baskets with candy and hand sanitizer for the small kids who live close by, and played virtual trivia with our grandpa who lives alone and has been really sad lately. We still need to think of 13 more things. Let me know if you have any ideas!
My grandmother has a really hard time being in isolation (she would constantly have friends and family over before quarantine) so every day I call and talk to her and draw/ paint her something to help cheer her up.
This week, my family and I did a couple different things. First, I created e-cards and sent them to 19 of my friends; just to check in a see how they're doing. My family and I also created signs with positive and encouraging phrases and quotes and put them our lawn for our neighbors to see. Finally, we then painted rocks with positive quotes on them and placed them randomly throughout the trail by our house.
I watch these YouTube Family. They are the Labrant Fam. They made Easter baskets for their daughter’s friends.
