I'm feeling extra excited to celebrate the holidays this year. Maybe because the world needs a little more cheer right now. What are some holiday traditions that you look forward to or would like to begin this year?
Christmas can be a challenging time for me. I struggle with mild seasonal depression so the dark, cold nights can be tough. I have to be very intentional about taking care of myself and getting outside in the sun as often as I can. Because of this, I try to keep the holidays simple. I do the 12 Days of Socks; it's a fun, small surprise every day. I also try to do most of my shopping online to avoid stressful crowds. And I make a virtual Christmas card that I email to friends and family.
I love this prompt! I may have to use it in the future. My mom, my sister, my grandma, and I have a tradition where every year we go see a big Broadway production downtown and get dinner at our favorite restaurant for Christmas. We usually see something Christmasy, like the Nutcracker or Christmas Carol, but obviously we can't because all of the theaters are still closed. So this year we're doing something different. We're going to order takeout from a nicer restaurant and watch a musical performance on TV.

That is a wonderful tradition! One of our traditions is that we like to watch all the Harry Potter movies during the Christmas season!
