It's crazy to me that it's my last year of college. When I think back to the stress of my first semester of freshman year and my insecurities, I also grateful for all the opportunities I've had to grow out of them. Through travel, reflection, coursework, success, failure, and loneliness, I have learned to be more comfortable as an independent person, and more trusting of others.
The thing I've loved most at college is the community that God has granted me. Finding people who are older, like professors, family friends, maybe even your friends' families, and people from church who have gotten through college already and are willing to support you has been one of the most unexpected blessings.
I look forward to one day being one of the people who helps others pursue their goals.
I agree with @Abby. I am a freshman myself and your post gives me motivation and a little hope that this year will get better. Thanks for sharing!
Laura - this is such a great message, especially for first year college students. The first year is so scary and at times lonely. Thanks for reminding us that we will make it through, and at the end, we will all be more confident, mature, and successful.
