These are trying times. America is struggling through the pandemic, we are about to get a new president (he may be in office by the time you read this), as well as other things. But God has put a message in my heart. I wasn't thinking of writing this post until a quote from one of my favorite television series popped into my head. That series is Batman (1966). At that time the world had gone through two World Wars and had other wars and disasters on the way. Batman 1966 is just what the world needed. This Batman was the farthest thing from the character we know today. Today Batman is all about darkness and brooding. In the 60s he was kind and upbeat. He and Robin went on adventures that were more goofy than anything and in the process Batman gave Robin advice. This ranged from girls that Dick (the alter ego of Robin at the time) had crushes on to eating clams (earlier in the episode Robin was almost eaten by a giant clam). But Bruce Wayne said those words that inspired this post. "Chin up, old chum. It's a good way of getting even." While eating clams after almost getting eaten by one is kind of funny, the first part of the quote has the real power. These are troubled times. People are feeling discouraged. To which I say "Chin up, old chum." This is what God laid on my heart, no matter how bleak things look, they will always get better. Poe Dameron said it best in Star Wars, "it is always darkest before the dawn." So I challenge you to look on the bright side and wait for things to get better. Because they will. That's the way it is and always will be. So one last time, "Chin up, old chum" and look to the bright side.

This is so good! (And I love the Batman reference!) There's a light at the end of the tunnel!
I love this @Justin! This is very true and more people need to hear this.
